Davis, Lodge and Moravsky Qualify for NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Graduate students Terrel Davis and Samantha Moravsky, as well as senior Elizabeth Lodge of the Hartford men's and women's track and field teams will be heading to Jacksonville, Fla., for the NCAA East Regionals on May 26-29. The trio earned their berths after posting a top-48 performance in the East Region in their respective events this season.

Davis, Moravsky and Lodge will head to the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla., for the four-day event. The qualifiers out of the region will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 9-12 in Eugene, Oregon.

Davis will make his third appearance at an NCAA Championship, qualifying for the long jump after setting a mark of 7.60m during the America East Outdoor Championships, posting the 21st-best mark in the region. The Beacon, N.Y., native has had an incredible campaign, winning the long jump in all but one meet that he has competed in. Davis currently holds the program records in the outdoor long jump (7.60m), triple jump (15.21m) and indoor long jump (7.78m) and triple jump (15.23m).

Davis became the first student-athlete in program history to qualify for the NCAA National Indoor Championships in 2019-20 and will make his second NCAA East Regionals appearance after qualifying back in 2018.

Morvasky is a repeat qualifier after competing in the 2019 NCAA Regionals while at William & Mary. The Sherman, Conn., native has dominated the javelin, winning the event in every meet that she has competed in. The graduate student qualified after recording a throw of 49.40m during the UMass Tri-Meet, setting the 27th-best mark in the East region.

Lodge makes her first appearance in the NCAA Championships after setting the 31st-best mark in the high jump (1.76m). The Manchester, Conn., native has put up tremendous performances in 2021, concluding with a record-breaking performance at the America East Outdoor Championships. Lodge took home the gold medal in both the heptathlon and high jump, earning Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Championships. The senior has continued to etch her name into the program's record books, breaking the school record in the heptathlon (4754 points), high jump (1.76m) and long jump (5.68m).
