"Both teams are really vested into their academics as well as The Department of Athletics here at the University of Hartford," said head coach Stacie Wentz. "We work hard to balance academics and athletics while competing and training at such a high level. I couldn't be prouder!"

The men's team tied for seventh in the nation with a 3.67 cumulative team GPA during the 2021 Fall semester. Last year in 2020, the men were also recognized as an All-Academic team after finishing the semester with a 3.45 cumulative GPA.

The men were accompanied by seven fellow America East Institutions on the All-Academic Team, including UAlbany (3.37), Binghamton (3.46), UMass Lowell (3.33), UMBC (3.264), New Hampshire (3.19), Stony Brook (3.14) and Vermont (3.38).

Juniors Cole Cayer, Danny Reynolds, David Gardner and Luke Fehrman each concluded the fall semester with 4.0 grade points averages. Amongst the other men's Division I programs at Hartford,  the men's cross country team ranked second behind the men's lacrosse team for highest GPA.

The women's team earned an All-Academic Team accolade and ranked 100th in the nation after combining for a 3.61 cumulative GPA. Back in 2020, the women were recognized by the USTFCCCA as members of the All-Academic Team with a 3.50 GPA as a team.

The women's team was joined by eight fellow America East Institutions who earned the accolade, including UAlbany (3.30), Binghamton (3.58), UMBC (3.39), UMass Lowell (3.524), New Hampshire (3.61), NJIT (3.652), Stony Brook (3.48), and Vermont (3.728).

Junior Hannah D'Orso, sophomore Hannah Perkins and freshman Kelly Neuendorf and Campbell Pagel each finished the semester with 4.0 grade point averages, to lead the women's team to its All-Academic Team accolade.
