Moser Breaks School Record at Alden Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Hartford men's and women's indoor track and field teams kicked off its 2022-23 season Saturday at the Alden Invitational. The Hawks landed five top-five finishes and one school-record breaking performance from senior Kyle Moser

HARTFORD MEN HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Hawks' record book was updated today when Moser recorded a mark of 15.78m to finish third overall in the shot put
  • His hurl broke the school record set by Dylan Murad ('22) back in 2020 at the America East Championships
  • Sophomore Kaden Leonard nearly broke his own school record in the 60m dash, clocking a time of 6.97 for third in the event
  • Senior Anthony Clavette took home the silver in the high jump after clearing a height of 2.02m
  • Sophomore Joseph Lothamer took home a top-five finish in the pole vault, posting a mark of 4.00m
  • Finishing less than half a second off his own school record in the 300m was sophomore Brandon Edmund who recorded a time of 36.06 
 
HARTFORD WOMEN HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Hailey Marcello raced to a top-five finish in the 3000m after crossing the line at 10:44.20
  • Junior Sydney Garrison tied for seventh place in the high jump after earning a mark of 1.61m
  • Graduate Student Haleemot Adeyanju and senior Hannah D'Orso each finished top-10 in the 1000m
  • Finishing within one second of each other, Adeyanju clocked in at 3:14.30 while D'Orso followed at 3:15.21
  • Juniors Robyn Krafft and Molly McGrail also earned top-10 finishes in their respective events
  • Krafft finished eighth in the shot put after throwing for a distance of 11.48m, while McGrail finished ninth in the 500m, running a personal-best time of 1:21.71
