Track and Field Competes at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON – The Hartford men's and women's indoor track and field teams had stellar performances across the board this weekend at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The Hawks saw one school record breaking performance and 10 new additions to the top-10 marks in Hartford track and field history.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The men were led by four freshmen standouts placing amongst the top ranks in Hawks history
  • Freshman Joseph Lothamer cleared 4.10m in the pole vault, missing the school record by just one tenth of a meter
  • Freshmen Jovan Joseph, Riley Brutvan, and Kaden Leonard each became the sixth fastest men in Hartford track and field history in their respective events
  • Joseph running the 400m in a time of 50.64
  • Brutvan ran the 5000m in a time of 15:12.94 
  • Leonard crossed the line in the 200m dash in a blazing time of 22.46
  • The men's Distance Medley Relay team ran a combined time of 10:22.01
  • Juniors Keith May and Christian Deal, along with freshmen William Lamburn and Joseph came together to run the fourth fastest DMR in Hawks history
 
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • In back-to-back races senior Haleemot Adeyanju has rewritten her own school record over the 800m distance
  • Running a new time of 2:12.63
  • Junior Hannah D'Orso became the second fastest women in Hartford track and field history to ever run the mile
  • Running a time of 5:02.80, finishing just seven seconds off the current school record, that has been held by Sam Crisafulli since 2015
  • Freshman Marlina Voker ran the 200m dash in 25.51, finishing just over three tenths of a second off the current school record
  • Sophomore Abby O'Connor became the fifth fastest women in Hartford's history for 5000m, running a time of 18:11.98
  • Senior Brianna Harris recorded the fifth fastest time in the 400m all-time for the Hawks, crossing the line in a time of 59.03
  • The women's Distance Medley Relay team ran a combined time of 12:04.41
  • Junior Hailey Marcello, Harris, Adeyanju, and D'Orso came together to finish less than seven seconds off the current DMR school-record time
