Track and Field Sets Two School Records at Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Hartford men's and women's indoor track and field team wrapped up its regular season campaign this weekend at the Brown Invitational. The Hawks saw two new school-record breaking performances as well as one tie of a school record mark, and a few new additions to the all-time top performances list.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Dylan Murad tied his own school-record mark in the shot put, throwing for a distance of 14.58m
  • Junior Anthony Clavette shattered his own school-record height in the high jump that was previously set at the David Hemery Invite in 2020
  • Clavette cleared a height of 2.08m to take the gold in the event
  • Freshman Joseph Stephenson smashed his own school record in the weight throw that was set back in the first meet of the season at the Alden Invitational
  • Stephenson threw for a distance of 14.84m to break his own record
  • Freshman Kaden Leonard flew across the 200m dash line in first place, with a blazing time of 22.79
 
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Seniors Nia Mills and Haleemot Adeyanju each etched their names in the all-time marks in Hartford track and field history
  • Mills ran 7.91 in the 60m dash to achieve the fourth fastest time in Hartford history
  • Adeyanju improved her fourth all-time mark, running a time of 1:16.86 over 500m
  • Sophomore Sydney Garrison matched her season-best mark in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.62m and finishing with the bronze 
  • Freshman Marlina Voker finished top three in both the 60m dash and 200m dash
  • Voker crossed the line in the 60m with the third fastest time in Hartford history of 7.90, as well as a runner-up finish in the event
 
NEXT ON TAP
The Hawks head back to Boston to compete in the America East Championship meet. The two-day meet is set to kick off Friday, February 25, at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
