Clavette Earns Second AE Field Performer of the Week Honors

BOSTON – Junior Anthony Clavette of the Hartford men's track and field team was named the America East Field Performer of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.

A native of Scarborough, Maine, Clavette earned the award after his school-record breaking performance at the UMass Lowell Invitational where he cleared a height of 2.01m and took home the win in the event. He has carried over his success from the indoor season to the outdoor season, as he currently owns the top spot in the America East for the event.

Earning his second career America East Field Performer of the Week honor, Clavette becomes the first Hawk to earn a conference accolade this outdoor season and third on the year. Clavette earned his first accolade after his school-record breaking mark of 2.08m at the Brown Invitational on February 19, 2022. Sophomore Sydney Garrison was the first Hawk to earn the accolade after her strong performance in the high jump back at the Alden Invitational on December 4, 2021.

Clavette and his fellow teammates take a two-week hiatus, returning to action next weekend at the Wilton Wright Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut State University on April 9.
