Track and Field Competes at the 36th Bobbi Palma Spring Classic

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Hartford men's and women's track and field team continued its 2022 outdoor slate today at the 36th Annual Bobbi Palma Spring Classic. The Hawks had outstanding performances on and off the track this afternoon, walking away with 18 top-three finishes which included seven first place accolades and one school-record breaking performance.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Freshman Conor Convery continued his record-breaking rookie campaign, shattering his own school-record mark in the hammer throw with a distance of 45.11m
  • Graduate student Nicholas O'Brien crossed the line first in the 5000m, running a time of 15:09.75
  • Seniors Keon Cooper and Dylan Murad finished atop the podium in their respective events
  • Murad recorded a mark of 14.41m in the shot put while Cooper threw for a distance of 55.13m in the javelin
  • Junior Uchenna Duru rounded out the men's first place finishers, taking the crown in the discus throw with a mark of 43.12m
  • Freshman Kaden Leonard recorded the third-fastest times in Hartford history in both the 100m and 200m dash
  • Leonard ran times of 10.89 and 21.99, respectively
 
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Sophomore Sydney Garrison earned a first-place finish in the high jump after clearing a season-best height of 1.64m
  • Freshman Kayla Pelletier recorded the third-furthest mark in Hartford history for the javelin throw, finishing first with a distance of 39.23m
  • Junior Hannah D'Orso finished as the runner-up in the 1500m with a time of 4:41.56, just five seconds off of Samantha Crisafulli's school-record time
  • Freshman Marlina Voker finished second overall in the 100m dash, running a blazing time of 12.30
  • Sophomore Robyn Krafft finished third on the podium in the discus throwing for a distance of 40.35m
  • Freshman Anya Alfonsetti-Terry set a team-best mark in the triple jump after leaping 10.27m for a third-place finish in the event

The Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 30 at Central Connecticut State University for the Blue Devil Invite. The meet serves as Hartford's final regular season meet before the AE Championships.
