At the nine-minute mark of the first with the shot clock running down, freshman Tatum Forbes drained a deep three to give the Hawks an early 3-0 lead. Princeton would respond going on a 9-0 run and forcing a Hartford timeout with 6:21 remaining in the opening quarter. Closing out the quarter on a 17-7 run, the Tigers took a 26-10 lead into the first break. Both sides would trade baskets to start off the second quarter, before Princeton would open up a commanding 49-16 advantage heading into halftime.

Coming out into the second half, both teams would go back-and-forth trading baskets and playing to an even 9-9 tie in the frame with four minutes remaining. Sophomore Nayeli Dowding kept Hartford afloat in the third quarter battle, scoring five points of her own in the 10-minute quarter. However, over the final four minutes of the third, Princeton would go on a 7-2 run capped off by a three-point field goal from Lexi Weger as the Tigers would take a 65-27 lead into the final quarter. The deficit grew to be too much for Hartford to mount a comeback, as the Hawks eventually fell, 84-37.
