"Academics is one of our top priorities within our cross country programs," said head cross country coach Stacie Wentz. "We want to make sure our athletes can have proper balance of both athletics and academics. We are one of the highest performing programs academically each year. I'm super proud of both our men's and women's teams in continuing our excellence on the cross country courses and in the classroom."

The men's team tied for 74th in the nation with a 3.45 cumulative GPA during the 2022 Fall semester. This distinction marks the fourth consecutive year that the men have earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors.

Last year in 2021, the men were also recognized as an All-Academic team after finishing the semester with a 3.67 cumulative GPA.

The men were accompanied by three fellow NCAA Division I Institutions from Connecticut on the All-Academic Team, including Central Connecticut State (3.29), Sacred Heart (3.22) and Yale (3.53).

The women's team earned an All-Academic Team accolade and ranked 41st in the nation after combining for a 3.70 cummulative GPA. The Hawks have now earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors for the past three seasons.

Back in 2021, the women were recognized by the USTFCCCA as members of the All-Academic Team with a 3.61 GPA as a team.

The women's team was joined by five fellow NCAA Division I Institutions from Connecticut who earned the accolade, including Central Connecticut State (3.26), UConn (3.646), Quinnipiac (3.72), Sacred Heart (3.59), and Yale (3.67).

A whopping 100 percent of the women's roster combined for a GPA of at least 3.0, with 12 of its 15 members posting at least a 3.5 GPA and six with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
