Track and Field Announces Remaining 2022-23 Schedule

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Head track and field coach Stacie Wentz has announced the remaining 2022-23 schedule for the Hartford men's and women's track and field campaigns. The Hawks will compete in seven more indoor meets before heading into their outdoor slate which kicks off at Salisbury on Saturday, Mar. 4.
 
"This is a comprehensive schedule to maximize the needs of everyone on the team," said Wentz. "We want all of our athletes to achieve their personal goals and we feel this schedule helps them to achieve it and get pushed by the competition we will see."

Hartford opened its 2022-23 season Saturday, Dec. 3 competing at the Brown Alden Invitational where senior Kyle Moser made his Hawks debut, shattering the shotput school-record mark, throwing for a distance of 15.78m. 
 
The Hawks continued their indoor slate taking part in the Yale Season Opener on Saturday, Dec. 10 where sophomore Joseph Lothamer and graduate student Haleemot Adeyanju continued Hartford's early season success. Lothamer vaulted to a new school-record height in the pole vault, clearing 4.55m while Adeyanju raced to a first-place finish in the 800m with a time of 2:19.95. 
 
After a six-week hiatus, Hartford returns to action with the URI Coaches Tribute Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21. The Hawks continue their second half of the indoor season at the UMass Lowell Invitational on Friday, Jan. 27, before heading to Boston, Mass., to compete in the New England Indoor Track and Field Championship meet, hosted at The Track at New Balance on Feb. 2-3.
 
Hartford will split up on Friday, Feb. 10, competing at both the David Hemery Valentine Invite, hosted by Boston University, and the Gordon Kelly Invitational, hosted by MIT. The Hawks close out their indoor slate competing at the Brown Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 18 and the Boston Last Chance Qualifier meet on Sunday, Feb. 26.
 
The Hawks open up their outdoor campaign Saturday, Mar. 4 at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet, hosted by Salisbury University before taking a three-week hiatus between competitions. Hartford's return to the track comes on Saturday, Mar. 25 at the UMass Lowell Invitational before it prepares for a busy month of April.
 
Competing in five meets over the course of 28-days, the Hawks continue the middle portion of their outdoor season at the AIC invite on Saturday, Apr. 1, before taking part in the Gordon Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 8 and UMass Invite on Saturday, Apr. 15. 
 
Hartford wraps up its busy month of April traveling to Baltimore, Md., to take part in the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Friday, Apr. 21, before returning back to Connecticut to compete at the CCSU Blue Devil Invite on Friday, Apr. 28. 
 
The Hawks conclude their 2022-23 track and field campaign at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Stonehill. The two-day event kicks off on Friday, May 12 before finishing up on Saturday, May 13. 
 
The men's track and field team return four key members in seniors Anthony Clavette and Keith May as well as sophomores Kaden Leonard and Joseph Stephenson. All four men played a key role for the Hawks last season and are looking to carry over their success for the remainder of the 2022-23 campaign.
 
Key returners on the women's side include juniors Sydney Garrison and Robyn Krafft as well as sophomore Marlina Voker and Adeyanju. The quartet consistently scored points for the Hawks during the 2021-22 season and are looking to lead the way for the team this year.
