Track and Field Competes at Loyola-Hopkins Invite

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Hartford men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Loyola-Hopkins Invitational on Saturday. Due to inclement weather the meet was called midway through competition.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Anthony Clavette highlighted the Hawks on the men's side, taking home the gold in the high jump for the fourth consecutive meet with a season-best height of 2.03m.
  • Sophomore duo Conor Convery and Joseph Stephenson finished third and fourth overall in the hammer throw.
  • Convery recorded a distance of 48.47m, while Stepheson threw for a mark of 46.13m.
  • Sophomore Noah Kell finished with second fastest 110m hurdles time in program history at 15.68 seconds. 
  • Sophomore Kaden Leonard clocked a season-best time of 10.94 seconds in the 100m dash to finish sixth overall.
 
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The women's 4x100m relay team of freshman Jenascia Weir, sophomore duo Cali Leonard and Marlina Voker along with junior Emily Parchinski recorded the second fastest time in program history.
  • The quartet combined to clock a time of 48.30 seconds.
  • Junior Sydney Garrison took home the crown in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.60m.
  • Sophomore Kayla Pelletier and Voker finished as the runners-up in their respective events.
  • Pelletier recorded a distance of 38.74m in the javelin while Voker flew across the line in the 100m dash in a personal-best time of 12.10 seconds.

The Hartford track and field team will look to build on its outdoor campaign next Friday in nearby New Britain, Conn., at the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational.
