Seven Hawks Earn All-New England Honors at NEICAAA Championships

DEDHAM, Mass. – The Hartford men's and women's track and field teams competed in the NEICAAA Championships this weekend at Northeastern. During the two-day event, the Hawks saw seven student-athletes earn All-New England honors.

HARTFORD MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Uchenna Duru highlighted the men's individual finishers, taking home a top-10 finish in the discus throw with a mark of 46.55m.
  • The 4x100m relay team of junior Noah Kell, sophomore duo Brandon Edmund and Kaden Leonard, along with freshman Spencer Beane teamed up once again this weekend.
  • The quartet clocked the second-fastest time in program history at 42.80 seconds. 
  • Lastly, the 4x400m relay team consisting of Beane, Edmund, Leonard, and sophomore Jovan Joseph combined for a time of 3:25.55, marking the fifth fastest time in Hartford history.
 
HARTFORD WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • The women tallied 21.5 points over the two-day event to finish 12th overall in the team standings. 
  • Sophomore Marlina Voker tore up the track this weekend, earning All-New England Honors in three events.
  • Voker finished third on the podium in the 200m dash with a time of 24.63 seconds, while flying across the line in the 100m dash in a time of 12.26 seconds. 
  • Junior Sydney Garrison and sophomore Kayla Pelletier earned spots on the All-New England team in their respective events.
  • Garrison high jumped 1.65m to claim fourth place among a field of 20, while Pelletier finished fifth overall in the javelin throwing 40.52m.
  • Senior Hailey Marcello clocked the second fastest time in program history in the 3000m steeplechase at 11:22.15 to earn All-New England honors.
  • The 4x100m relay team of Jenascia Weir, Cali Leonard, Emily Parchinski, and Voker finished with a time of 47.80 seconds to rank second on Hartford's all-time list.
