GREENWOOD, Ind. – Eight members of the Hartford men's and women's track and field team were recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom, earning Academic All-District Honors, the College Sports Communicators Organization announced today (May 31, 2023).

Riley Brutvan received the All-District Award.
Adeyanju, a five-year member of the Hartford track and field program has posted a cumulative GPA of 3.85 while working towards a graduate degree in management. On the track, the Newark, N.J., native holds both the indoor (2:12.63) and outdoor (2:11.73) 800m school-record times.
Brutvan has accumulated a GPA of 3.82 while pursuing a double major in both Music Production and Technology. The sophomore out of Gardiner, N.Y., has established himself as one of the top male distance runners in Hartford history, ranking top-three all-time in the 3000m steeple chase (9:44.38), outdoor 3K (8:47.64), indoor 5K (14:48.44), and the 10K (31:45.83).
Cayer graduated with a degree in Digital Media and Journalism, earning Summa Cum Laude distinction's after registering a perfect 4.0 GPA. The Cumberland, R.I., native was named one of Hartford's Edward Weinswig Scholar Athletes of the Year for carrying his perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Clavette, the indoor and outdoor high jump school-record holder at 2.08m, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, earning Summa Cum Laude after accumulating a 3.97 GPA. The department's Male Athlete of the Year had a stellar outdoor campaign, finishing atop the podium in the high jump for seven straight meets.
D'Orso joined Cayer on stage, earning a degree in Digital Media and Journalism with a cumulative GPA of 3.99. On the track, the Kennebunk, Maine native ranks second all-time in the outdoor 1500m (4:41.56), the indoor 1000m (2:57.66), and the indoor mile (5:02.83).
Duru rounded out the Hawks' 2023 graduates, earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with cumulative GPA of 3.79. The Union, N.J., native end's his Hartford track and field career holding the school-record mark of 46.61m in the discus throw, while also ranking top-five all-time in the indoor shot put at a mark of 13.48m.
Garrison has accumulated a GPA of 3.64 while pursuing a degree in Politics and Government. The Southington, Conn., native earned All-New England honors in the high jump at the NEICAAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this season after clearing a height of 1.65m to finish fourth overall.
Krafft in the classroom has earned a 3.84 cumulative GPA while working towards a degree in finance. This outdoor season the Milford, N.H., native rewrote the discus throw record books, shattering her own school-record mark of 42.73m with 43.27m at the UMass Lowell Invitational.
Honorees must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and need a full year of residency at the school unless the student-athlete is a graduate transfer.
The organization, formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track and in the classroom.
