Track and Field Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Distinction

NEW ORLEANS – The Hartford men's and women's track and field teams were each named an All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Associations (USTFCCCA).

"I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes, and their dedication to achieve not only athletic achievements but even greater academic success," said newly promoted head cross country and track & field coach Connor Green. "This is what our programs strive for and will continue to in the future."
 
The men's team earned the distinction after combining for a cumulative GPA of 3.25. Last semester, the men saw 21 of its members finish with GPAs over 3.5.
 
The men's team was joined by four fellow NCAA Division I Institutions from Connecticut on the All-Academic Team, including Central Connecticut State (3.20), UConn (3.04), Sacred Heart (3.24), and Yale (3.61).
 
The women's team earned the honor after combining for a 3.45 cumulative GPA. Last semester, the women saw 28 of its members earn GPAs of 3.5 or higher.
 
The women were accompanied by five fellow NCAA Division I Institutions from Connecticut who earned the accolade, including Central Connecticut State (3.19), UConn (3.37), Sacred Heart (3.53), Quinnipiac (3.59), and Yale (3.65).
