Wenham, Mass. – The Hartford men's and women's cross country teams returned to action Saturday afternoon at the 52nd Pop Crowell Invitational. The Hawks were led by freshman Keller Casey and senior Abby O'Connor for the second consecutive meet. The women finished second as a team, while the men finished fourth in the team standings.
MEN'S RACE HIGHLIGHTS
- Keller Casey was the top finisher for the Hawks, Finishing 12th overall with a time of 28:41
- Sophomore Peter Efinger was the next Hawk to cross the line with a time of 29:21, which saw him finish 18th
- Senior Jovan Joseph rounded out the top-three finishers for Hartford, completing the 8k in a time of 29:21 for 19th
- Trae McIntyre, Mathias Nevin and John Kelly conclude the Hawks with top-forty finishes
- McIntyre and Nevin crossed the line with times of 29:39 and 30:00, While Kelly crossed in 31:19 for 37th
- Gordon College took home the team title in the me's 8k tallying a total of 40 points
WOMEN'S RACE HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Abby O'Connor and Graduate Hailey Marcello led the way for the Hawks as they finished within one second of each other
- O'Connor and Marcello crossed the line in 22:57 for a 2nd and third-place finish
- Senior Molly McGrail rounded out the top-three finishers for the Hawks racing to an 11th overall finish in a time of 24:51
- Freshman Amelia King and senior Sarah Kulpa completed the top-five scorers for Hartford
- King finished 18th overall in a time of 25:50, while Kulpa crossed in 26:11 for a 22nd-place finish
- Hannah Perkins, Carly Odom, Chloe Coale, and Bevin Montgomery-Gehrt concluded the Hawks with top-thirty finishes
- Endicott claimed first place in the women's 6k, finish with a total of 36 points
