The University of Hartford women's basketball team lost to Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Roger Williams , 61-49, Wednesday at the Chase Family Arena at the Reich Family Pavilion.
Roger Williams opened the game by scoring 15 of the first 19 points and Hartford never led as they shot 19.4 percent (7-of-36) in the first half. Hartford hit the glass with force in the first half with 12 offensive rebounds.
Hartford pulled to with four in the second quarter, but RWU scored 14 of the next 17 points over the second and third quarters to push the lead to 15 points with 7:24 remaining in the third quarter.
The home-standing Hawks had another run in them and got to as close as six with 4:17 remaining, but couldn't get any closer.
Freshman
Jaida Cunningham came off the bench for a career-high 11 points with five rebounds. Freshman
Adrianna McCoy added 11 points and five steals, while freshman
Ava Naszimento recorded a team-high eight boards.
