WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -The University of Hartford men's and women's basketball teams will host Play4Kay games on February 19th during the Conference of New England (CNE) double header against Suffolk University to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The women's game will start at 5:30 pm followed by the men's game at 7:30 pm.
The Play4Kay games started in 2006, when North Carolina State University women's basketball coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Kay Yow dedicated one of the Wolfpack's home games to raising donations and awareness for the battle against women's cancers.
Over the near-20-year history of the Play4Kay games, more than 1,000 schools across the NCAA have stood up for Kay Yow's vision to support advanced research, extend the quality of life for those battling cancer, serve the underserved, and unite the people.
The University of Hartford men's and women's basketball teams are collecting donations through the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Donations can be sent to the fundraising pages on the Kay Yow cancer fund website. Links are active for both the men's team and the women's team.
The option to donate on the day of the game will be available. QR Codes will be posted outside of the Chase Arena. Tickets for the game can be purchased online or at the ticket booth.
