BEVERLY, Mass. – On Wednesday, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its women's basketball major award winners and all-conference teams with a pair of Hawks being featured.
Sophomore
Ava Naszimento (Secaucus, N.J.) was named to the CNE All-Conference Third Team after a stellar sophomore season. Naszimento finished the year averaging 8.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game on the season while shooting 48.8% from the floor. In conference play Ava shined averaging 10.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game while shooting 56.1% from the floor. Naszimento's best game came on February 1st against Gordon College scoring 24 points while ripping down 11 rebounds.
Freshman
Mikaela Williams (Windsor, Conn.) rounded out the Hawks featured being named to the CNE Community Service Team. The community service team highlights one student-athlete per institution who demonstrates a commitment to their community. Williams currently volunteers at Hartford Hospital, where she assists the nurses in the GI ENDO department. On the floor Williams averaged 4.0 points 1.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game in her first season as a Hawk. Mikaela's best game of the season came on January 15th at Suffolk where Williams netted a career-high 12 points to go with three assists and three steals.
