Everett Hackett enters year number three as an assistant coach for the Hawks ahead of the 2025 Cross Country season. Hackett will be continue to specialize in distance and middle distance coaching for the Track & Field seasons.
Hackett joins Hartford after eight years of coaching at Hall High School in West Hartford, CT, where he was a part of building a successful program, coaching numerous athletes to state titles, school records, all New-England, and all-American performances as well as multiple state team championships.
In his first season with the Hawks, Hackett has seen numerous PR’s and 12 all-time top 10 performances from the Distance/Middle Distance groups as well as 1 school record in the 600 by Jovan Joseph.
A former Connecticut state record holder in the 3000m steeple chase, Hackett attended Hall High School and then George Mason University, graduating with a Bachelor’s in English. As a student-athlete at GMU, under the tutelage of Andrew Gerard, Hackett was Ic4a champion in the outdoor 5k as well as 5mi cross country. Hackett qualified for the Olympic Marathon Trials in 2016 and 2020. Locally, he was also the Hartford Marathon Champion in in 2022!
Hackett helped to start Hartbeat Track Club in Hartford, a club that he still proudly competes with today.
