Michael Waszeciak enters his second year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Communications in 2025 after starting in the role inĀ August of 2024.

At Hartford, Waszeciak isĀ charged with oversight of the publicity and promotion efforts for the Hawks’s 20 intercollegiate athletic programs. His responsibilities include the official athletics website, social media platforms and the home athletics live streams. He also serves as the primary contact for the 20 teams. In his first year in West Hartford, Waszeciak was recognized in the College Sports CommunicatorsĀ Creative & Digital Design Contest eight times in 2024-25, most notably being named best in the nation for game day graphics in the college division.

Waszeciak joins Hartford after serving as the Director of Athletic Communications at Colby-Sawyer College for the past three years, where he oversawĀ all 23 of the Chargers varsity athletic programs. At Colby-Sawyer, Waszeciak innovated the student-athlete coverageĀ for the athletic programs adding multi-camera broadcastĀ productions while alsoĀ helping launch "Charged Up" the official podcast of the Colby-Sawyer Chargers and the "Chargies" year-end award show. MichaelĀ grew the social media presence for the Chargers adding high-quality graphics and unique video ideas while continuing to create the standard game recaps, previews and stories.Ā 

Prior to being at Colby-Sawyer, Waszeciak was the Sports Information Director atĀ NHTI - Concord's Community College for two years. At NHTI, he served as the primary sports information contact for 12 sports. He grew the Lynx social media presence on Instagram and YouTube and increased engagement on Facebook. Waszeciak maintained the athletics website with schedules, recaps, and department news while recording statistics at all home contests.

Waszeciak, graduated with a bachelor's of science in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2019 and resides in Plainville, Conn. with his fiancéeĀ Shannon.Ā
