Miranda Nixon enters her second year with the Hartford women's basketball program in 2026-27 after being hired in September of 2025.
In her first season, the Hawks would finish with a 15-12 record including a 11-5 Conference of New England (CNE) record. The Hawks would clinch the #4 seed in the CNE Playoffs and defeated the University of New England on February 25th to advance to the CNE Semifinals. The playoff win would be the first for the program since 2018-19. Hartford would fall in the CNE Semifinals to eventual CNE Champions Johnson & Wales University on February 27th. The team would have three CNE All-Conference selections in 2025-26 and three College Sports Communicators Academic All-District choices.
Prior to Hartford, Nixon has been the head coach of the 15u-17u Central Pa. Alyssa Thomas Elite EYCL team since December of 2022. She has also been the head junior varsity and varsity assistant coach at Trinity High School since June of 2019. In the time at Trinity, Nixon has achieved 2 District 3 PIAA Championships and multiple state playoff appearances.
Nixon was a former division I student-athlete at Holy Cross where she made 71 appearances for the Crusaders at Holy Cross from 2015-2019.
A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Nixon graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in May of 2019 with a bachelor's in Sociology.
