Men's Tennis Drops Home Opener to Connecticut 5-2

West Hartford, CT - The University of Hartford men's tennis team hosted the University of Connecticut in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.  The Huskies picked up the point for doubles and three points in singles to capture the victory 5-2 over the Hawks (0-1 overall).

The highlight of the afternoon was in singles play where Hartford's Artur Muller and Jeff Cote outmatched their opponents to pick up points at number one and two singles. Muller topped Connecticut's Ben Schueler 6-0, 6-1, while Cote defeated Goldstein 6-4, 6-0.

In doubles action, in the top double spot Muller and Cote forced  Schueler and  Goldstein  Connecticut to an extra game before UConn was able to earn the win, 9-7.

The Hawks will next travel to a Worcester, Mass. on Tuesday, September 19 to take on the Crusaders of Holy Cross at 3:00 p.m.
