Worcester, MA - The University of Hartford men's tennis team won its first dual match of the season with a 4-3 victory on the road at Holy Cross on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks picked up the doubles point and the top-three singles matches to take home the win. Hartford improves to 1-1 on the season while the Crusaders fall to 0-1.
Hartford's Artur Muller and Jeff Cote combined for the victory at first doubles by an 8-2 score while Doruk Baglan and Emmet Drake combined for the victory at number two doubles with a score of 8-1.
Muller, Baglan and Cote all took home singles victories in the top-three spots respectively. Muller defeated Brian Kelly of Holy Cross in two-straight 6-0 matches. Baglan defeated Angelo Sica by scores of 6-2, 6-1, while Cote defeated John Burke by 6-0, 6-1 margins.
The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, September 24, when they host Siean in a dual match with the women's team. The match is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
