PISCATAWAY, NJ - The University of Hartford women's golf team finished in 11th place, out of 16 teams, at the Rutgers Women's Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Rutgers University Golf Course. The women's golf team finished with a two-day total of 673, bettering their day-one score by one stroke.
Boston College came form behind to take home the team title, bettering Lehigh University by six strokes on the final day. The Eagles finished with a two-day total of 629, while Lehigh finished with a two-day total of 633.
Freshman Emily Linn led the Hawks, finishing tied for 23rd overall. Linn picked up three strokes from her first round score of 82 to finish with a two-day combined total of 161. Kara Sikorski finished seven strokes behind Linn and in a tie for fourtieth place overall.
Rounding out the scoring for the Hawks were Paige Gauthier (T-52nd, 84, 88), Sadie Heald (T-57th, 87, 87) and Megan Claxton (T-57th, 85, 89).
The women's golf team will close out the fall season competing in the Sacred Heart Invitational, their next outing, on October 26-27 in Fairfield, CT.
