Men's Tennis Falls at Holy Cross

The University of Hartford men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Holy Cross Crusaders in a midweek match. Hartford's only point came as the first win of the season for walk-on Mark Goldfinger at number six singles.

Goldfinger defeated Kevin Leggi after taking the first set to an extra point. Goldfinger won by scores of 7-5 and 6-3. The Crusaders won the first point of the match in doubles play. The Hawks came within reach of winning the doubles point. Goldfinger and Aaron Kooden saw the best doubles match at the third position, dropping an 8-4 decision to Matt Cicidomino and Dan Phelan.

 

Fil Miletic and Ed Hoey fell at second doubles by an 8-3 decision to Jay DeSanto and Kevin Leggio. Will White and Tim Glickman rounded out the doubles action, dropping the number one position to Matt Wierzal and John Burke.

Glickman saw the second best singles match at third singles. Glickman took on Phelan and fell by scores of 6-3, 6-2.

 

The men's tennis team will play one final tune-up prior to the America East Championship. The Hawks will travel to Stony Brook University this Saturday for a 12:00 p.m. match in Stony Brook, NY.
