West Hartford, CT - The University of Hartford women's tennis team dropped its final dual match of the season, a 7-0 loss to the Albany Great Danes. The women's team will next play at the America East Championships in New Haven, CT on Friday and Saturday, April 25 and 26.
Albany picked up the first point of the match, sweeping the Hawks in doubles play by 8-0 scores in all three matches. Hartford's best competition came at first and second singles from Raquel Casino and Kasey Michels. Casino dropped the first singles match by 6-3, 6-1 scores to Aimee Kern, while Michels fell by 6-2, 6-2 scores to Susan Ma at second doubles.
Hartford was shutout at third, fourth and sixth singles, while Michelle Tafur fell by 6-0, 6-1 scores at fifth doubles to Laine Mackey.
