WGolf Finishes 16th at Yale

 

NEW HAVEN, CT ? The University of Hartford women's golf team finished 16th at the Yale Invitational on Sunday at the Yale University Golf Course.

The tournament was shortened to 18 holes after rain halted play on Saturday. Instead of finishing the rounds from Saturday?some teams had played as many as 17 holes?everyone started fresh on Sunday morning.

Harvard shot 301 to take home the team title. Texas-San Antonio's Allie Jordan earned medalist honors and was the only player in the field to shoot even par at 71.

Hartford shot a team round of 327 and was led by junior Sadie Heald's 79, which tied her for 38th overall. Rounding out the scoring for the Hawks were freshman Emily Linn (81, T-52nd), junior Kara Sikorski (83, T-64th), junior Paige Gauthier (84, T-74th) and senior Megan Claxton (86, T-82nd).

Hartford will be back in action on October 3-5 at the ECAC Championship at Kiskiack Country Club in Williamsburg, VA.
