Volleyball Falls to Sacred Heart 3-0 in Non-league Meeting

The University of Hartford (6-15 overall) volleyball team dropped its third-straight three-set (25-12, 25-11, 25-19) match to the Sacred Heart Pioneers in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday night. Hartford was led by sophomore Michelle Cordell who finished with seven kills. 

Hartford finished the match hitting .121 with 27 total kills and 16 errors in 91 total attacks. Cordell led the Hawks in kills and hitting percentage, finishing the match hitting .500 with only one error in 12 total attempts.

 

Also leading the Hawks in kills was Erin Macro and Kami Nethersole who each finished with six kills. Nethersole was second on the team with a .200 hitting percentage with two errors in 20 total swings

Hartford's Lindsay Ford finished with 22 assists to lead the team, while senior Hallie Fullagar led the Hawks defensively with 13 digs. Fellow classmate Maddison Molyneux was second on the team with eight digs.

Sacred Heart was impressive from the floor, hitting .455 as a team. They combined for 43 total kills and only three errors in 88 total attacks. Jessica Colberg led the Pioneers with 17 kills and one errors in 24 total hit for a .667 hitting percentage.

The Hawks return to conference play with one match this weekend. They travel to New Hampshire for their first conference road match. Hartford and the Wildcats are set for a 4:00 p.m. start time.
