Boston, MA – The University of Hartford dropped its fourth-straight game by a 1-0 margin, this time to the Boston University Terriers on Sunday afternoon. Hartford falls to 4-10-2 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play.
Neither team would score in the first 45 minutes, with the Hawks leading the shots battle with an 8-6 lead going into halftime. The Terriers came out of the break looking to score from the start, taking a major advantage in the shot battle throughout the half, winning the second half 11-1.
The Terriers put the only score on the board 24 minutes into the second half when Farrell McClernon netted her fourth score of the season. McClernon used a pass from Jessica Luscinski for the game-winning goal. Luscinski sent a pass through the Hawks defense into the box where McClernon beat Hawks keeper Lauren Brodeur with a short shot.
Brodeur finished the game with four total saves, all coming in the second half. Hartford had three of its attempts in the first half go on goal with the only shot in the second half also on goal, forcing Janie Reilly to make four total saves in the shutout.
The women's soccer team will next play at Albany on Thursday, November 22 at 3:00 p.m.
