Women's Soccer Tops Albany 2-0 on the Road

BOX SCORE

Albany, NY –
The University of Hartford women's soccer team scored a 2-0 victory over the Albany Great Danes for their first conference victory of the season and their first win in seven attempts. The Hawks improve to 5-10-2 overall and 1-5-1 in America East play.

Hartford's Breeanna Robinson scored both goals, scoring the game-winner in the 35th minute off a pass from Mary Beth Hamilton and adding and insurance goal, connecting with Julianne Oberholtzer in the 75th minute.

Robinson's first goal of the game, and the third of the season, came on a breakaway attempt, beating out Great Dane's keeper Care Crenson. She received the pass from Hamilton and on the breakaway scored past Crenson from a shot take from the top of the box. On the insurance goal, Oberholtzer provided the pass at a favorable time as a defensive miscue allowed Hamilton to score on a shot over the keeper's head.

Hartford keeper Lauren Brodeur made a career-high 14 saves, facing a total of 26 shots from the Great Danes (8-8-1 overall, 3-3-1 AE). Brodeur collected eight saves on 15 total shots in the first half and then picked off six shots in the second half, off a total off 11 Albany shots. The shutout is the fourth of the season, and the 10th of Brodeur's career.

The Hawks return to Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium for the final home game of the season on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., welcoming the Vermont Catamounts to West Hartford. Prior to the game, the Hawks will honor their three seniors, Laura Guigli, Rachel Richards and Becky Flowers.
