Vestal, NY - The University of Hartford women's soccer team could not overcome a first half goal on the road against the Binghamton Bearcats on Thursday night, falling 1-0. Hartford falls to 4-7-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference action.
Binghamton's (5-5-1, 2-2 AE) Emily Pape notched the game's only goal in the 28th minute, scoring off a pass from Stefani Knopick. Knopick sent her pass from the left sideline into the far right corner where Pape's shot eluded the reach of a diving Hartford keeper, Lauren Brodeur.
Hartford was outshot in the game by a 17-7 margin, including four shots from sophomore defender Michele DeSanti. Hartford had a legitimate attempt at the goal in the final seconds of the game, but the shot by DeSanti was turned away by Erin Iman, one of two saves for the Bearcats keeper. Brodeur finished the game with seven saves.
Hartford continues conference play with its second-straight road game, playing at UMBC on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
