West Hartford, CT – The University of Hartford volleyball team dropped a three set (14-25, 22-25, 32-34) to the New Hampshire Wildcats on Senior Night at the Reich Family Pavilion. Prior to the match, the Hawks honored their four senior; Sarah Boss, Hallie Fullagar, Erin Macro and Maddison Molyneux.
Macro was one of two players to lead the Hawks (7-19 overall, 0-8 AE) hitters, both finishing with six kills. Joining her was junior setter Lindsay Ford who finished with just one error for a .357hitting percentage leading all players. All but one of the Hawks players finished with at least three kills for the Hawks.
Ford also led the Hawks defensively, finishing with nine digs, while Molyneux finished second for Hartford with seven. Ford also finished the match with 20 assists.
Hartford finished the match hitting .089 as a team. They put down a total of 33 kills and had 23 errors in 112 total attacks. Boss, a defensive specialist, finished the match with four kills and no errors in five total attempts.
The Wildcats (11-14 overall, 3-5 AE) finished the match hitting .198 with 46 kills and 23 errors in 116 total attempts. Leading all players in the match was Lindsay Fogarty who finished with 17 kills. She also led UNH with a .343 hitting percentage with five errors in 35 total attempts.
The Hawks will close out the 2009 season with a pair of road conference matches next weekend. They begin with a 7:00 p.m. match against Binghamton on Friday and then take on the Albany Great Danes in the season finale on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
