WGolf Finishes T-13th at Hoya Invitational

 

BEALLSVILLE, MD - The University of Hartford women's golf team moved up one spot on the final day at the Hoya Invitational and finished tied for 13th in the 15-team field.

The Hawks shot their best round of the tournament, finishing with a 335 for a 54-hole total of 1,041. Nova Southeastern University took home the team title with a three-round  total of 916.

Freshman Emily Linn led the Hawks for the tournament. She turned in the best round of the day by a Hartford golfer with a 79. She tied for 46th overall at 253.

After posting back-to-back rounds of 87 on Monday, senior Megan Claxton bounced back to shoot 84 in the final round and tied for 55th at 258. Junior Sadie Heald tied for 65th at 264 while classmate Paige Gauthier finished five shots behind her at 269 and tied for 67th. Junior Kara Sikorski rounded out the scoring for the Hawks at 292 and finished 75th.

Hartford will next compete in a tri-match on Saturday, April 11 against Central Connecticut State University and Boston University at Wethersfield Country Club.
