West Hartford, CT – The University of Hartford volleyball team scored its second-straight victory at home with a three-set win over the St. Francis College Terriers on Saturday afternoon. Senior hitter Erin Macro led all players in the match with 15 kills.
Macro compiled the best hitting match of her career, finishing with no errors in 21 total attempts for a .714 attack percentage. As a team, Hartford finished the match hitting .237 (40 kills, 17 errors, 97 total attacks), finishing with a hitting percentage over .200 for the second-straight match.
Joining Macro in leading the Hawks hitting efforts was rookie Kami Nethersole who finished with seven kills and senior Hallie Fullagar who finished with five kills. Nethersole had only two errors in 17 total attempts for a .294 attack percentage, while Fullagar also had just two errors in 19 total attempts for a .158 attack percentage.
Directing the offense was junior Lindsay Ford who finished with a match high 33 assists, while senior Maddison Molyneux finished with three assists. Molyneux also led the Hawks defensively with 10 digs, tying the Terriers Liliana Rodriguez to lead all players.
Sophomore Sydney Scott led Hartford blocking efforts with four total, one solo and three block assists, while Molyneux added three block assists.
Hartford will play its next seven matches away from the Reich Family Pavilion, beginning with three at the Boston College Tournament next Friday and Saturday. Hartford will take on the Rhode Island Rams to open the tournament on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Power Gym in Chestnut Hill, MA.
