Leading the Hawks was a pair of outside hitters, senior Sareeta Nethersole and junior Dionna Kirton, who each finished with nine kills. Of the pair, Kirton led the way with a .348 hitting average, suffering just one error in 23 total attempts. Nethersole combined her nine kills with a team-best 15 digs to lead the way on both sides of the ball.
Joining Nethersole in leading the Hawks defensive efforts was freshman libero Paola Llerandi who finished with 11 digs. On the offensive side, along with Nethersole and Kirton freshman Corinne Horanzy was among the leading hitters for the Hawks with seven kills, while she added nine digs. Junior setter Jackie Tamburri finished with 26 assists and added eight dig.
Hartford will continue a four-game road stretch with a pair of matches next weekend, beginning with the longest trip of the conference season at UMBC. The Hawks and Retrievers are scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the RAC on Friday, October 18.
