WEST HARTFORD, Conn.— Freshman
Colleen Beck picked up a point in singles play for the Hawks' women's tennis team against Fairfield in the regular season finale Wednesday afternoon. However, Beck's play was not enough to push the Hawks past the Stags as Fairfield left West Hartford with a 6-1 victory.
Beck played at the No. 3 singles position for the Hawks Wednesday. The freshman from Milton, Del., defeated Fairfield's Nikki Jackson in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Christie Greenberg also challenged for set wins. Zampas dropped her first set in the top singles set, 6-1, but battled in the second set before falling, 7-5. Greenberg, playing at No. 5 singles, dropped her first set, 6-4, and also won five games in her second set before falling by a 7-5 decision.
The loss to Fairfield marked the end of the regular season for the Hartford women. The Hawks will continue play in the postseason at the America East Championship in Catonsville, Md., April 26-28.
