Clark Cards 79 in Dartmouth Dual Match

RESULTS

BLOOMFIELD, Conn.—
Freshman Shannon Clark carded a 79 at the Tumble Brook Country Club Sunday, but her efforts were not enough as the University of Hartford women's golf team dropped a dual match to visiting Dartmouth, 323-326. The Hawks and Big Green faced off in a single round matchup in which the top-four scores for each team counted towards the team total.

Clark matched her collegiate best round Sunday with a 79. Her previous round of 79 came in the first tournament of the season at Towson. The rookie tied for the lowest round of the day with Dartmouth's Sarah Knapp.

Sophomores Annamarie Mallat and Brooke Nethercott, along with senior Aubrey Ungvarsky, contributed to Hartford's 326 team score. Mallat posted her best round of the spring with an 81 while Nethercott turned in an 82 and Ungvarsky carded an 84.

Freshmen Colette Schmidt and Meghan Ryan and senior Elizabeth Creighton also played for the Hawks on Sunday. Schmidt shot an 85, Ryan an 87 and Creighton a 102.

The Hawks head to the Sunshine State for the MAAC Women's Golf Championship April 25-27. The Hawks will play 54 holes over the three-day championship at Disney's Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
