· Senior outside hitter Sareeta Nethersole matched her season-high with 11 kills, a match-best, to lead the Hawks against Manhattan. Nethersole has now led the Hawks in kills in all four of their matches in 2014.
· Senior Kathryn Gawrych continued her hot hitting against the Jaspers finishing second on the team with eight kills, and leading the Hawks with a .238 attack percentage with three errors in 21 attempts.
· Senior setter Jackie Tamburri continued her march towards breaking the school record for career assists since the start of rally scoring by collecting 30 assists against Manhattan. She now needs 86 assists to take over the all-time top spot.
· Tamburri collected her second double double of the season, closing out the match with 10 digs, second most on the team. Overall, of the 13 players who saw action against the Jaspers all but one finished with at least one dig.
· The Hawks return to action on Friday and Saturday when they travel to Bridgeport, Conn. for the two-day Sacred Heart Invitational where they will join the host Pioneers, Rhode Island, and Iona.

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The University of Hartford volleyball team drops its only mid-week test before returning to tournament play in three sets (15-25, 13-25, 26-28) on the road at Manhattan on Wednesday night. Hartford (1-3 overall) was led by senior outside hitter Sareeta Nethersole who led all hitters in the match with 11 kills.
Nethersole was the only Hawk to finish in double figures while classmate Kathryn Gawrych continued her hot hitting with a team-leading .238 hitting percentage. Gawrych finished the match with eight kills and three errors in 21 total attempts. As a team, Hartford saw its best hitting come in the third set, combining for a .182 hitting percentage on 16 kills and eight errors on 44 total attempts.
Senior setter Jackie Tamburri finished the match tied for the match-high with 30 assists while she also collected 10 digs for her second double double of the season. Tamburri's 10 digs was second most on the team with sophomore Corinne Horanzy leading the team with 11.
The Hawks return to the court for three matches at the Sacred Heart Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Hartford will play back-to-back matches on the opening day of the two-day event with a 2 p.m. match against Rhode Island and a 5 p.m. battle against Iona on tap for September 5. The Hawks will close out the Sacred Heart Invitational against the host Pioneers on Saturday with the final match set for 4 p.m.
