PROVO, Utah – Freshman leftfielder Nick Campana finished with a pair of hits, his fourth multi-hit game of the season, leading the University of Hartford baseball team in a 6-0 loss to the BYU Cougars in the first of a four-game series against the West Coast Conference foe.
Campana was one four Hawks who finished with a hit as the Hawks trailed BYU 11-5 in the hit column. Fellow freshman TJ Ward joined Ryan Lukach and Billy Walker all finished with one hit apiece.
Junior right hander Kyle Gauthier suffered his second loss of the season, pitching seven innings in his third start of the year. Gauthier was tagged with all six of Cougars runs, all of which were earned, while giving up 10 total hits. Freshman Jake Regula made his second appearance of the season out of the bullpen, pitching one scoreless inning. Regula gave up one hit and walked one batter, while also striking out one.
