THE LEAD:
T.J. Ward went 3-for-4 and scored four runs, while
Chris Sullivan drilled a two-run home run, as the Hartford baseball team knocked off Marist 5-3 to improve to 21-8 on the season. Sebastian DeMauro pitched a perfect 2 1/3 innings out of the bullpen to collect the win, striking out one.

Hartford also got two-hit days out of
Ashton Bardzell and
Erik Ostberg, while
Billy Walker drove in two runs in the victory.
Collin Ferguson tossed a perfect ninth to register his seventh save of the season and lower his ERA to a microscopic 0.57 on the season.

Joey Aiola and John Brucker had two hits apiece in a losing effort for the Red Foxes, while Michael Hunter collected the loss out of the bullpen.
HOW THEY SCORED
• The Hawks struck first with a run in the top of the second on a Walker RBI groundout that scored Ward.
• Marist countered with an RBI single to right in the bottom of the third to knot the score up at 1-1.
• Hartford regained the lead again with Walker at the plate, as he mashed an RBI double to center to score Ward once again for a 2-1 lead.
• The Red Foxes came back with an RBI single up the middle off starting pitcher
Justin Cashman to make it 2-2.
• Sullivan broke the tie with a two-run homer to right, plating Ward, who had reached on a single, to make it a 4-2 Hawks lead.
• DeMauro came out of the pen in the bottom of the fifth, stranding a pair of base runners on a strikeout, and went on to throw 2 1/3 sterling innings to maintain the Hawks edge.
• Hartford added an insurance run in the top of the eighth, when Bardzell tripled home Ward to give the visitors a 5-2 lead.
• Marist got a run back on a solo home run in the top of the eighth and put the tying run on base, but
John LaRossa slammed the door with an inning-ending popout.
• Ferguson came on for the bottom of the ninth to register his seventh save of the season, the second-most in program history, by tossing a 1-2-3 inning.
