THE LEAD:
Ben Bengtson's two-run single with two outs in the top of the seventh helped the Hartford baseball team earn a doubleheader split as the Hawks snapped UMBC's eight-game winning streak in game two of the double dip. Down 4-3 with two outs in the last frame, the Hawks rallied for three runs to take a 6-4 win. UMBC rallied from down 6-5 in extra innings in game one to take the first contest of the series.
