SET-BY-SET
• The Wildcats got out to a roaring start, opening a 15-4 lead over the Hawks. Kills by Henchy and
Jenna Bridges slowed the momentum momentarily, but UNH regained its position en route to a 25-11 victory.
• The second was a much more back-and-forth affair, though UNH got out to a 6-3 lead. The Hawks chipped away at that, and gathered the lead with
Paulina Modestow at the serve, by a score of 9-8. Hartford pushed the lead to 14-10 on a block by
Abby Nash and
Brittany Braun, but the home squad slowly gained on the Hawks, gathering the lead at 18-17 and never trailing again in a 25-21 triumph.
• New Hampshire got out to a fast start after the break, opening an 8-3 lead early on in the third. The Hawks came roaring back with four straight, the last a Henchy kill, to cut it to 8-7. The Wildcats were able to push the lead back to five at 15-10 before Hartford rallied once more, cutting it to 17-15 on a block by Henchy and Braun. But that was as close as the visitors would get, as the Wildcats took the match.
