THE LEAD:
The University of Hartford softball team was bested on day two of the USF-Under Armour Invitational, falling at the hands of Western Michigan and Georgia State.
GAME 1: WESTERN MICHIGAN 11, HARTFORD 0
Kelsea Cichocki went 4-for-4 and Marlee Wilson went 2-for-3 with five RBI as WMU downed the Hawks in the first game of the day. Mackenzie Swinehart went 3-for-4 as well for the Broncos.

Jordan Kurth improved to 4-4 in five shutout innings, allowing only a single to
Meghan Wynn in the victory.
Bianca Ross picked up the loss for the Hawks.
HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 1:
• Cichocki put Western on the board with an RBI single to center field in the top of the first.
• WMU added six runs, all unearned, on four hits and an error in the second.
• The Broncos tacked on a pair of runs in the fourth on a Wilson two-run, ground-rule double.
• Western closed out the scoring in the fifth with two more runs, one on an RBI groundout and one on a Swinehart RBI single.
GAME 2: GEORGIA STATE 16, HARTFORD 1
GSU scored 14 runs, but only five earned, in the second inning, as Brenna Skalski drove in five runs and Mallory Koepke drove in four en route to a 16-1 victory for the Panthers. Kinsley Jennings allowed two hits and struck out seven in four innings to pick up the victory.

Lexi Wilkerson drove in the Hawks' only run of the game, while
Elizabeth Newkirk had a single as well.
Melissa Pereira was credited with the loss.

HOW THEY SCORED, GAME 2:
• GSU plated 14 in the bottom of the second, with Skalski's three-run triple the biggest blow of the frame.
• The Hawks got in the board in the top of the fourth when Newkirk delivered a one-out single, moved to second on a fly ball and came in on Wilkerson's RBI single.
• The Panthers added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth when Koepke delivered a two-run single.
