THE LEAD:
Lexi Wilkerson went 3-for-3 and
Danielle DeMarco went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, but Fort Wayne downed the Hartford softball team 12-3 on Sunday. The contest was the final one of the Hawks' trip to the USF-Under Armour Invitational.

Maria Palmegiani, Caitlyn DeLong and Sierra Miranda each delivered three hits, with Miranda driving in four runs and DeLong driving in three. DeLong led the Mastadons with three runs scored. Olivia White collected the win after giving up nine hits and three runs in five innings of work.

Isabella Gerone was carded with the loss, allowing nine hits and seven runs in 2 1/3 innings in her debut.
HOW THEY SCORED:
• Fort Wayne netted the game's first run on a sacrifice fly in the top of the first.
• The Mastadons added three more runs in the second, two on a Miranda triple and one on a Lauren Watson single.
• Fort Wayne added four runs in the third, the final blow being a two-run homer for DeLong.
• Hartford got on the board in the bottom of the third, beginning with a DeMarco RBI single to second base.
•
Kristen DeCiantis added another run on an RBI single to right center that plated DeMarco.
• The Mastadons scored four in the top of the fourth to push the lead to 12-2.
• The Hawks closed out the scoring in the bottom of the fourth on an
Elizabeth Newkirk RBI single.
