WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Senior Lindsey Abed tied a career-high with 25 points as Hartford came back from an eight-point deficit in the third quarter to take down Harvard, 73-60, Wednesday afternoon.
Abed was 6-10 from the floor and 5-7 from three, as the Hawks improve to 2-3 on the season. Senior Sydney Skinner led the Crimson with 19 points, as they fall to 2-3 overall.

After a slow first half that saw neither team shoot over 30 percent, Harvard came out in the third quarter on a 13-3 run capped off by back-to-back three pointers by junior Katie Benzan and Skinner made the score 36-28 with 6:07 remaining in the period. Hartford chipped away at the lead through the rest of the quarter and closed within one after a three pointer by Abed cut the Crimson's lead to one (43-42) heading into the fourth.
Harvard took its final lead of the game at 45-44 with just under nine to go in the period, before the Hawks took control and finished on a 29-15 run. Sophomore Jade Young, junior Sierra DaCosta and Abed combined for 30 points, helping Hartford dominate the quarter and score the 73-60 victory.
NEWS AND NOTES
· DaCosta has scored in double-figures in four of her first five games of the season.
· Hartford registered 10 steals, and turned 18 Harvard turnovers into 19 points.
· Young scored in double figures for the second time this season and had a season-high 11 points.
· It is Hartford's first victory over Harvard since 2011 and the Hawks fourth at home against the Crimson.
