Trailing by four early at the 16:52 mark, Hartford heated up and delivered a 23-5 run to go up by 14 points at 25-11 with 7:30 remaining in the opening stanza. The Hawks held the Falcons scoreless for a five-minute stretch during that run, scoring 11-unanswered points off of four Bowling Green turnovers. The Falcons responded with a 10-0 run of their own to close the gap to four, but Hartford finished the half strong, using five-straight points from Carroll to take a 32-23 lead into the break.
After exchanging three-pointers to open the second, Dylan Frye knocked down back-to-back threes to ignite a 14-0 Falcons' run that put them in front, 41-40, with 10:59 left to play. The lead was short-lived, though, as a 9-2 spurt capped by Dunne's third three of the stanza made it a 51-45 Hartford lead with 7:33 to go. Two more triples from Dunne just 31 seconds apart would push the Hawks' lead back into double figures (59-49), before eight-straight makes from the line and a fast break bucket by Lynch put the game out of reach in the final minutes.
