Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Â
- UAlbany opened up the game on a 3-0 run before sophomore Owen Trepeta found the back of the net for the first time on his career to put the Hawks on the board with 6:06 left in the first quarter.
- That score would hold for the remainder of the stanza, but two quick strikes by UAlbany's Patterson and TD Ierlan 21 seconds apart pushed the Great Danes' lead to 5-1 with 14:19 left until halftime.
- The Hawks managed to pull back within three at 6-3 with 6:53 left in the half, but Patterson made it 7-3 at the break with 3:47 remaining.
- A dominant third quarter allowed the Great Danes to run away with the game. UAlbany outscored Hartford, 6-1, to take a 14-4 advantage into the final quarter and put the game out of reach.
