Jenna Bridges finished with a match high 15 kills, but it was not enough for the Hartford volleyball team as the Hawks dropped a 3-0 decision to New Hampshire in America East action on Friday night.
Bridges registered double digit kills for the 11thstraight match for Hartford, who dips to 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the America East. Gabri Olhava hit .375 with a team-high 14 kills as the Wildcats improve to 6-10 and remain undefeated in conference play at 2-0.
NEW HAMPSHIRE 3, HARTFORD 0 (27-25, 25-16, 25-19)
- SET ONE: Down seven midway through the opening set, Hartford stormed back into the match on a 13-6 run to tie the score at 20-20. The Hawks then held advantage at 25-24, but could not close out the set as New Hampshire scored the final three points for the 27-25 win.
- SET TWO: Hartford led 10-9 in the second set before the Wildcats went on a 10-1 run to take control at 19-11. The Hawks could only get as close as six the rest of the way, as New Hampshire wrapped up the second set, 25-16.
- SET THREE:The Wildcats jumped out to a six-point lead in the final set at 13-7. Hartford managed to cut into New Hampshire's advantage by scoring nine of the next 14 point to only trail by two at 18-16. The Wildcats, however, did not allow the Hawks to get any closer, as they finished of the match with a 25-19 win.
- NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS: Sophomore setter Megan Anderson dished out 29 assists, while freshman Alex Lucero had her sixth-straight match with double-digit digs (11) … New Hampshire was led by Olhava's 14 kills while Alexa Markman had a match high three blocks.
