WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – A record-breaking night from long range propelled the Hartford men's basketball team to an 86-60 win over visiting Binghamton in America East action on Wednesday. The Hawks (11-11, 4-3) drained a school-record 19 three-pointers — including 12 in the first half — to put the Bearcats (6-16, 2-5 AE) away early and coast to the victory.

Jason Dunne, who connected on six three-pointers for 18 points. Classmate

John Carroll each chipped in with 14 points for the Hawks.

The Hawks turned in a sizzling performance from long range out of the gate, drilling four threes within the first seven minutes to take a quick double-digit lead. Going up by as many as 20 in the opening stanza, Hartford went on to make 12-of-16 triples during that stretch to take a comfortable 44-27 lead into the break. Senior
J.R. Lynch and Carroll combined to go 5-for-5 from behind the arc in that frame, while Dunne knocked down five of his own to lead the offense with 15 points.
The offense continued to roll for the Hawks, as a 15-0 run midway through the second fueled by a trio of three-pointers stretched the lead to 34 at 70-36 with 10:17 remaining. Hartford added three more three-pointers to its count in the final part of the half to put down the previous school record (18 threes).

- Sam Sessoms scored a game-high 22 points for the Bearcats, while Chancellor Barnard came up short of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards.
