McLemore Scores Career-High as Women's Hoops Falls to Providence, 75-57

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Sophomore Jordan McLemore put up a career-high 21 points as the Hartford women's basketball team fell to Providence, 75-57, at Reich Family Pavilion on Wednesday evening. The Hawks fall to 0-3 on the season with the loss, while Providence improved to 2-0 on the season.

Behind 10 points from McLemore in the first seven minutes of the game, the Hawks held a narrow 13-12 lead over the Friars with 2:24 remaining in the opening quarter. However, Providence went on a 16-2 run to hold a 28-15 lead over Hartford with 6:42 left in the first half. The Hawks responded by using the final 6:12 of the half to outscore the Friars 20-10 to cut the deficit to 38-35 at the break.
 
After the Hawks cut the deficit to 42-41 with 5:53 remaining in the third, the Friars went on a 20-5 run to take a 62-46 lead with 8:28 left in the fourth quarter. Hartford cut it to as close as 62-51, before Providence pulled away for the 75-57 win.
